FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (BusinessWire EON) March 14, 2007 --
Chromatek Imaging has specialized in photo imaging for professional photographers since 1983. More recently Estee Lauder sought out their services to reproduce photo quality imagery in a large-format for their airport kiosks nationwide. This prompted Evans to add a finishing department so he could offer similar services to clients.
"Because of the influx of business from Estee Lauder and other corporate clients we were able to add equipment and expertise that meets a demand for large, medium and small businesses in South Florida," says Evans. "We are now able to offer trade show, Point-of-Purchase (POP), and other marketing materials in short runs, or small quantities, in photo quality. Bottom line is that we can now develop your images and advise and execute getting those images reproduced on nearly anything."
To complete the addition of these services Chromatek now features a full-time finishing department, a design team, marketing professionals and one of two Lightjet machines in South Florida.
Evans says his decision to add these services is part of what he calls the changing face of the traditional photo lab. As digital cameras continue to replace traditional film cameras, the need for high-quality film developing is also on the decline. However, Evans says that the needs of those people behind the camera are changing and that photo labs are changing to meet that demand.
"Photo labs are still an integral part of traditional photography, but the volume of traditional photographers shooting with film is on the decline," says Evans. "The trend now is helping small and mid-size businesses capture great images and helping them use that imagery to create solid marketing campaigns, POP displays, signage, trade show booths, et cetera. We felt it was integral to our future and the ways in which we serve the growing South Florida business community to broaden our focus to include these services that are really in demand."
Evans adds that the power of the image in our increasingly visual world is vital to communicating messages to consumers.
"The ability to compete with big marketing budgets is more than ever within reach for small and medium size business owners. With the growing crop of photo quality, large format and short-run options, companies are really in control of producing marketing materials that have impact and resonate with consumers. By adding our marketing staff we have completed the circle of advising and executing marketing initiatives for the South Florida Business community."
